Is Human Garage® Legit?

I'd rather you decided for yourself.

Human Garage® is an international organisation behind Fascial Manoeuvres® and a wider range of movement practices and programmes.

I'm a certified Human Garage® Coach, and Human Garage® is one of the bodies of work I explore through movement and private sessions.

But if you're wondering whether Human Garage® is “legit”, I don't think the useful answer is for me to simply tell you that it is.

You can ask better questions.

What is actually being claimed?

What evidence is there for that claim?

What happens when you explore the movements yourself?

And what do you actually know from that experience?

You don't have to believe everything.

And you don't have to dismiss everything either.

Human Garage® uses particular ideas and language around fascia, movement and the body.

Some of those ideas may be interesting to you.

Some may raise questions.

Some you may want to investigate further.

Curiosity doesn't require unquestioning belief.

You can explore something while still asking questions about it.

Your experience matters. It isn't proof.

If you explore Fascial Manoeuvres® and something changes, that's worth noticing.

Perhaps a movement feels different.

Perhaps you notice something you hadn't noticed before.

Perhaps you enjoy it.

Perhaps you don't.

Your experience is real as your experience.

It doesn't automatically prove why something happened or establish every claim made about the practice.

And I think there's room for both of those things.

Notice what happened.

Stay curious about why.

Do I need to believe in Human Garage®?

No.

You don't need to adopt a particular set of beliefs before moving your body.

You can learn what Human Garage® is.

Ask questions.

Explore the movements.

Notice your own experience.

And make your own mind up from there.
