Fascia Release Benefits
Why do people explore fascia release?
Everyone arrives for a different reason.
Some people want to move differently.
Some are curious about fascia.
Some are looking for more ease.
And some simply want to explore a different relationship with their body.
But I don't think fascia release needs to become another list of benefits we're supposed to achieve.
Perhaps the more interesting question is:
What becomes possible when something changes?
What might you notice?
No two people have exactly the same experience.
Some people notice a movement feels easier or different.
Some become aware of tension they hadn't noticed before.
Some notice their breath.
A position might change.
Something may feel more available.
Or you may simply enjoy spending some time moving and paying attention to what happens.
Your experience doesn't need to look like anybody else's.
And it doesn't need to match a list of expected benefits to be useful.
Sometimes the interesting part isn't what you expected.
You might begin by paying attention to a particular movement.
And then notice something else.
How you're standing.
Where you're putting effort.
What happens when you change position.
What happens when you slow down.
What happens when you stop.
One thing gives you information about another.
Not because every sensation has a hidden meaning.
Simply because once you notice something, there is more available to explore.
Human Garage® and Fascial Manoeuvres®
Human Garage® explores movement through Fascial Manoeuvres®.
They're an invitation to move, notice and become curious about what happens.
There are ways the movements are taught, but you don't need to force a particular experience or make your body produce a particular result.
Move. Notice. Change something. Notice again.
-
Everyone is different.
Some people notice something the first time they explore the movements, while for others it's something that unfolds gradually through regular practice.
-
No.
That's one of the reasons I encourage people to let go of expectations and stay curious about their own experience instead.
-
No.
There aren't any rules.
Some people enjoy exploring the movements daily, while others simply return to them whenever it feels right.
Consistency can be helpful, but perfection isn't the goal.
What if the benefit is awareness?
Perhaps some of what becomes useful isn't something we need to measure as a physical “benefit”.
Perhaps it's noticing more.
How your body moves.
What changes when you do something differently.
What feels familiar.
What you hadn't noticed before.
What becomes possible when one condition changes.
Because once you notice something, you have more information.
And more information can create more room for choice.
Where can I begin?
If you're curious about Human Garage® and Fascial Manoeuvres®, you can explore the movements privately with me or come to a movement experience when one appears in the diary.
Or keep exploring:
