Settled Body Session
What becomes possible when you stop trying to fix what is here?
Sometimes we know exactly what we want to change. Sometimes we only know that something keeps happening, something feels stuck, or the response we keep having no longer seems to fit the life we are actually in.
A Settled Body Session is a private exploration using the Settled Body Method®.
It isn’t a conversation about your body, although we may talk. And it isn’t a treatment designed to get you into a calmer, better or more regulated state.
We work with what is happening as it happens.
That might involve movement, stillness, position, breath, attention, contact, sensation, the space around you, or the way your body responds when something changes. Sometimes the smallest shift gives us new information. Sometimes we discover that what seemed fixed is much more changeable than it first appeared.
We are not looking for the thing that is wrong.
We are noticing what is here, what you are responding to, what you actually know, and what else becomes possible when we stop assuming the first reaction is the whole answer.
Notice. Know. Choose.
The body is included. It isn’t put in charge.
Your body is responding all the time — to the room you are in, the person beside you, what you expect to happen, what has happened before, what feels familiar, what feels new, and things you may not have consciously noticed yet.
Those responses are real.
But they are not automatically instructions.
A tightening does not always mean stop. Softening does not always mean yes. A reaction may belong to what is happening now, or it may be influenced by familiarity, expectation, history, tiredness, surprise or context.
So rather than immediately asking How do I get rid of this? or What is my body trying to tell me?, we can become interested in something else.
What is actually happening?
What changes when you move?
What happens when you stop?
What becomes different when the support underneath you changes, when there is more space, when the pace alters, when something unfamiliar becomes possible?
We let the body contribute information without asking it to provide the final answer.
The body gets a voice, not a veto.
What happens in a session?
We begin with what is here.
You might come with something specific: a reaction that keeps appearing, a pattern you understand but still find yourself inside, a decision, a sense of holding or effort, something happening in or around your body, or a situation where you would simply like more choice.
Or you might arrive without a neat explanation at all.
That is fine too.
From there, the session unfolds around you rather than following a predetermined sequence. We may talk. We may move. You may stand, sit, lie down, change position, become still, notice contact or support, explore a response, or discover that something completely different becomes interesting once we begin.
There is no correct experience to have and no particular state I am trying to get you into.
We are not chasing release.
We are not trying to make every sensation mean something.
And we are not turning awareness into another form of self-surveillance.
The point is to give you more information and more room to choose.
Sometimes that looks like a reaction becoming less convincing. Sometimes you notice you have another option. Sometimes something that felt fixed begins to move. Sometimes the useful thing is simply discovering what happens when you stop interfering quite so quickly.
You do not need perfect regulation.
You need recoverable choice.

Not sure what kind of private session you want?
You don’t need to work that out before you come.
You can explore the other ways we can work one-to-one, or choose I’d like Jade to guide the session and we’ll begin with what is actually there.
